The room was quirky inasmuch that it was on two levels with a beautiful refurbished bathroom, a dressing table area and wardrobe, then up four stairs to the bedroom and sitting area. The Wateredge Inn is in a wonderful location right on the lake. The
views out to the boats bobbing on the lake were lovely. The room was
nicely decorated and comfortable as was the bathroom. The inns lounge
and dining areas were very nice, with again a beautiful outlook. The two
Scottish sisters who waited on us for breakfast were lovely and friendly
as was Ryan the bar man. The countryside around Ambleside was really
beautiful and well worth a longer visit.

Very good guesthouse with very friendly and efficient staff. The double room with en-suite (£70 per night B&B) was very good value, well appointed and was very clean with high levels of local information. The breakfast was extensive with cereal, fruit juice, fresh fruit, yoghurt, full English breakfast with tea/coffee and toast. Alan who co owns Melrose house with his wife Lynn could not have been more helpful. A definite recommendation for Melrose House and will tell family and friends.

The staff were lovely, really friendly and helpful. The room seemed small but there was no edging around furniture, even with the travel cot up.
The bathroom was fancy, no bath but a huge shower and it had obviously been recently refurbished.
Breakfast was great, plenty of choice.
There's also a big park over the road as well, which was great for us as we were there with our baby, who was up long before breakfast every day. It's only a few minutes walk from all the shops in one direction, and

A spotlessly clean family run B&B, with lovely owners and staff, right in the centre of Ambleside. I can't wait to visit again. Extreemly comfy beds and an amazing choice for breakfast. (Try the bacon, it is the best I've tasted in many years!) I've stayed in Ambleside before on many occasions, but this was my first time at Wordsworth's. I'm glad I found it!

Lacet House is in a great location, very close, literally to the town centre of Ambleside. The host Catherine made my 83 year old mother and I very welcome. We received old fashioned hospitality. It is a small guest house so it feels like bringing your lounge room! We booked 6 months ahead from Australia ans got a very competitive rate. Very good

Such a lovely place to stay where the owners were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. They went above and beyond expectations! Great location right in the middle of Ambleside. Modern well presented rooms with very comfortable beds! We had a great choice of breakfasts and they even have parking spaces! ( rare in Ambleside). We will definitely be returning for another visit! The location was excellent. There was easy access in and out of the town and it was within walking distance to all the Ambleside attractions. It was an easy drive to Waterhead at the lake and the roads to various countryside attractions. There was a free car park (unusual for a B & B), free wifi that worked very well and a good breakfast included in the price. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We stayed at elder grove for 3 nights and it was a wonderful weekend the hosts vicki and Paul are absolutely lovely the breakfast is fab and whenever we had a question they were always happy to help they also had brilliant maps for us to take out on our journeys which were very easy to follow Paul chose a walk for us as we weren't sure and it was perfect, I hope we weren't to much trouble because they will definitely be seeing us again infact I think my parents are now going next month on our r

of my bed and breakfast list. Also due to the bus stops being directly

the hotel information booklet was excellent giving far more information than many hotels in large chains.All the staff were very pleasant and obliging-nothing was too much trouble. - The proximity to the town and shops were super. The car park was on site and the staff were pleasant and always available if needed but did not pressure us in any way.
