Proximity to surrounding area. Warm friendly atmosphere. Friendly atmosphere. A good base for Manchester. Excellent value for money. Our main reason for the weekend stay was to visit our son who is at the Davis lewis Centre for a 12 week assesment but we also went into Manchester shopping and sightseeing. It had a good sized family room. The hotel was idealy positioned for my stay with easy access to Wimslow and Alderley Edge.alla recensioner »
the bar closed at 11 pm which meant the hotel was quiet.the room was very clean and good qality bed linen. The rooms were a comfortable size with supportive, new beds. Two reasonably priced meals for two very hungry travellers en route to an early flight from Manchester airport the next day. Room good size and clean. Good shower. Well placed for Wilmslow where I was visiting family. Quiet Rooms Easy Parking Easy Access from main road. Location, friendly staff. Staff very friendly, service and price good. The staff were very welcoming, nothing too much trouble. Fair value for money. Only spent one night here, Comfortable room. A bath. The only things we liked about the hotel was the fact that the room was clean and warm.nothing really, only stayed because we had to. even though it was a no smoking room,it really smelt of stale cigarettes. My room had food leftover from the previous tenant. The curtains weren't hung at the windows, they were on top of the wardrobe, but fortunately it was a dark room with no outside lights to disturb us. The noise from the kitchen extractor fans was difficult to get to sleep through and you could hear the staff talking in the kitchen. As we were travel weary we managed to sleep reasonably well but otherwise I think this would have hindered our sleep. Needs better signs in car park and building for where reception ispositioned...tried three different entrances. Loud music in restaurant area As mentioned above no provision forbreakfast before 9am. Pungent chemical smell in stairwell. Tired and worn eating area. Bar area and dinning area in need of update seats all dirty. Room was spacious, and the bathroom was clean, but on waking the next morning I saw that there was something which looked very unfortunately like dried vomit down the side of the bed. Had I seen it the night before I would have asked for a different room!!. 1) The toilet lid was not fixed in room 202.
2) Breakfast has to be ordered the day before.
3) No breakfast buffet. Our evening meal was cold and the meat was tough. Not enough staff. The hotel was generally quite shabby - poor paintwork, upholstery needed refurbishing. Breakfast very limited for the cost. The hotel is in need of refurbishment, door lock was broken, windowswouldn't open. Cigarette burns on carpet and dog-ends outside of window. the staff was rather un-interested and appeared very unhelpful. The public areas were not particularly clean, there was only 1 member of staff working behind the bar, taking orders for meals and booking in guests @ reception. There was no light in the hallway, which made it difficult to see to open the bedroom door, 1 of the 4 wall lights was not working, the toilet seat was not bolted on properly and the curtains were hanging off.The rooms are long overdue for a face lift and repair. in my room the curtains wer hanging off the rail making it imoposible to close and the toilet seat was broken. Breakfast was requested for 8am and I did not recieve it till 8.30am. The family room was occupied by another party and had to have their belongings removed so beds not made and room not cleaned properly. The rooom maid was clearly drunk and carrying a pint of lager in her hand!!. Everything. It was dirty. One room had damp with wallpaper hanging off the ceiling.Second room was immediately above the kitchen.Although the floor vibrated, it did not deter the hotel from making this room available. Curtains hung with two hooks. The general cleanliness of the breakfast room was a little less dirty than a greasy cafe.Shame the pleasant hotel receptionist had to contend with this. dangerously hot water, coming out of the cold tap. curtains ripped and hanging on by one hook in the corner. No useable sockets. Beds old and uncomfortable. Breakfast may as well have been cooked the day before. Lots of stairs to the room. Very noisy, no good for night workers. Rattling windows. No remote for tv, this only had 3 very bad signal channels.
