A chandelier made from wine glasses features in the restaurant, which has a cosy log fire during winter. Continental buffet breakfasts are served each morning, and guests can enjoy a refreshing drink at the modern bar in the adjoining Merlin pub. The spacious and stylish rooms have a neutral décor and include a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. All rooms also have an en suite bathroom with a selection of toiletries.

I loved everything about this hotel, we booked it for our first wedding anniversary and loved the look of it from the pictures, I wasn't 100% sure it would be up to scratch as it was attached to a restaurant and the bar didn't close till 12. I have to say it was a lovely, friendly, clean and relaxed place to stay, a stones throw from the village which had some fantastic bars and eateries, the rooms were very clean and spacious and hardly any noise from the bar at night, we ate in the hotel on t.
alla recensioner » I booked Alderley Edge as a present for our parents Golden Wedding and 70th birthday celebration. They were going to RHS flower show at Tatton Park so the hotel was a perfect 'base'. My parents had a lovely room at the front of the Hotel (which was quieter) and the staff couldn't do enough for them. A card was provided from the Hotel which my parents greatly appreciated. In organising the weekend the staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend this hotel!. Spacious room and very pleasant decor, liked the wall and floor tiles in en-suite, shower was easy to use with good water pressure. Generous amounts of tea, coffee and milk was able to enjoy more than one beverage at a time. Staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Evening meals were delicious, well presented and generous. Ambiance very pleasant and relaxing. Good mix of guests from young to mature. This was an amazing bargain. The rooms were comfortable and staff helpful. The bar area and dining were excellent. We arrived off a 24 hr flight and had low expectations of the hotel as it was so cheap. However it was a great start to our holiday and we still can't quite believe it was such good accomodation for such a small price. Spacious room, 2 double beds plenty of room for 2 adults & 2 children. Continental Breakfast included for 4. Staff friendly & helpful. Accommodated our autistic son's needs. From the description we belived them to be two separate places next ti one another. The staff were very friendly and restaurant offered a wide range of choices. The rooms were simple and very clean. The hotel is clean and confortable. the room was spacious a really good accomodation at a very good price. Moreover it is 15 minutes only far from Manchester Airport. Very good breakfast. Room was clean, modern and spacious. Highly recommend this place. If arriving at night, it is not clear, but the sign says 'Merlin', with Innkeepers in tiny letters underneath.. The beds could have done with being king size, I guess im just not use to sleeping in a double and felt a little claustrophobic. Door catch on bathroom door had been damaged so unable to secure door, had been mentioned by previous guests. Even with radiators turned off and window left open all day room still very warm, fan was provided. Room faces onto main road so traffic noise was considerable all through the night. Bed was placed against corridor wall, so when the other guests walked past to their rooms it felt like they were walking into our room, quite unnerving. The only issue was too few tea bags! But the staff soon sorted that minor detail. There was some noise from restaurant in the room but it didn't disturb the rest of my family, I'm a light sleeper but with some foam ear plugs which I always travel with, I slept fine. It could do with a make-up light above a mirror. Our rooms ( no 1 and 3) were located aboce the kitchen fans which were very noisy til late in night snd then started up again very early the following morning. Consequently we didnt sleep vey well. There was a draft in our bathroom which caused the bathroom door to creak all night. The room would benefit from a full length mirror. Besides this the hotel was excellent. As a business traveller, I'd appreciate some sort of desk in the room. although our room was comfortable we were a bit disappointed at its location. we spent our two days in room one and we were over the fans for the kitchen. Not only did we get the noise but we also had the smells to contend with for most of the day and evening. We found we could not open the window for some fresh air because of the smoke from time to time from the fans. Having said this we did have a great time, thank you. N/A. Check-in was at the bar, and it was a Friday evening; so quite busy. think he was a manager (Gary) did not even acknowledge U where a guest and looked at U as if U should not be there total opposite,. Lack of response to request to repair faulty toilet (rm 9). Radiator in shower room also did not work. nothing. The brekfast was average but overall great value for money. Much traffic just outside the Hotel. 15 min walk to the village with bars and restaurants. Room 1 - we were given this room first but it's next to the kitchen extractor fans. Might not be a problem for some but too noisy for me. Noise from kitchen fans outside our bedroom (Room 1). Called Alderley Edge Lodge but had big sign calling it The Merlin - drove past it twice before I saw the small sign of Alderley Edge. Noisy due to being by a main road & no double-glazing so woken about 6am (although I am a light sleeper so may not bother other people). Bathroom a little tired and mildew on tiles. Limited selection for breakfast and ran out of food. No lift. Asked by manager if we wanted cooked breakfast. Said could I have 1 soft boiled egg was given 2 minute hard boiled eggs practically in edible and charged £3.90 for them. Had to,pay extra for a cooked breakfast ! Considering price of room this should have been included. Put off, on arrival by a) very loud rock festival opposite hotel (but finished at 2220) and b) by the busy nature of the bar/restaurant. Had to check in over the bar, above the noise levels. outside of hotel looked run down (building work in progress). There was no info about local features/places to go. No chair in room. slightly too far from nearest village for a walk. i booked a family room and was given a double result had to go and book another hotel rubbish central booking system. Have no complaints. Breakfast tea bags not replaced after first night Toilet rolls not replaced either Morning cleaning was intrusive while eating breakfast (noise/smell) Extractor fan at rear of building is very noisy. Room temp far too warm, bed very uncomfortable and breakfast staff very unorganised. Cooked breakfast should have been included in cost of stay. No remote for the tv in the room. This coudn't be solved during our stay. The breakfast that was included in the room was not so good. Cooking smells from the kitchen. Burglar and then fire alarm on both nights with no one in attendance and no one from management assessing who was in car park or still in bed. This is illegal. Backside rooms get to hear the air conditioning fans and not a nice view. No lift Iron broken in room.
