Superb hospitality, service and comfort. A delightful oasis in an out of the way spot. Lakshman and his lads put together a feast of a dinner and the washing returned beautifully ironed.The welcoming lime juice hit the spot.We were lent the bike to ride the km into town - Habarana - a crossroads centre with shops about 50m each way - nothing more. Sitting on the veranda sipping a Lion Lager makes this a special stop. Estutee.
alla recensioner » Jaira was a wonderful host and Le Grand Mealness was a great place to use as a base to explore the cultural triangle. The food was good and the staff were very accommodating, welcoming and helpful (cooking breakfast whatever time we required it). The room was really large, nice and clean and I would recommend Le Grand Meaulnes to anyone. Little no-frills 6-room hotel, well located just outside Habarana, so near the elephants parks, the Sigirya and Dambulla historical sites. Friendly managed, good food prepared on the spot, simple but comfortable rooms (fan, no ac). Very good value for money. Facilities for the driver are provided fre of charge. The owner of the hotel speaks English and French very well and he is very friendly and helpfull. The place was nice and calm, it was our first night in Sri Lanka, so it was pleasantly beginning. Excellent place, excellent staff and delicious food. A very friendly atmosphere and a nice, quiet location. Big rooms. Very good dinner and breakfast. Probably our best stay in Sri Lanka. The rooms were clean & large. Very large garden in front. Location is on the main road but still a good 70 meters away from main road. Hot water with good pressure. + clean, well furnished room + friendly staff. Good food. Not all rooms have air on or mossy nets. Nothing in particular - although sometimes the eggs were cold at breakfast!. Not a big problem, but the staff does not speak English very well. Room without mosquito net. Lighting in the room makes it difficult to read books after dark. Our friends that spent three nights over there complained that the room was not cleaned during there stay and breakfast was very poor. nothing to complain. - had limited facilities - bathroom was bit smelly - no TV in room. Towels were small and run down. Dining area is very basic with flies bathroom will be much better with shower curtain. Lighting in the room can be improved. Internet is intermittent. - noisy from train and road - not very helpful staff. Slow internet Many bugs and mosquitoes.
