In early Aug 2013, it was very hot in Madrid. I arrived to find there was no aircon in any room due to a generator failure. Too tired to relocate I stayed anyway. It was a very hot and uncomfortable night. The following day, management were quick to apologize, gave the first night free and upgraded my status to include b'fast for all 3 mornings of my stay. Bravo! If this is an indication of Eurostar policy, I am impressed.
alla recensioner » Hotel is renovated and is very trendy, our room was good and clean. Cleaning was done well. We had no problems at all. We didn't take breakfast so cannot comment on it. It is well situated, with a tube stop just 3 minutes walk from the door. All major tourists sites are withing walking distance, Plaza del Sol only 5-7 mins away (Prado musem is about 15-20 minutes, so as Plaza Espania). Fantastic Hotel, very central, amazing staff. I Hand a terrible night in another Hotel before, and just wanted to leave. I booked this one and called what time I could check in, because I was very tired and had to work. They prepared me a room at 8am and I could check in. Many thanks Tor Karla! The rooms are perfect, very stylish and very functional. Fantastic price/quality!. Great location, a 10 minutes from Sol, surrounded by restaurants, 2 theatres and an english speaking cinema complex. The rooms giving to the inner court are extremely quiet which is a real plus in Madrid. Excellent breakfast with fresh juice, quality ham, fruits ... Flat TV with some choice of international stations. Big, confortable shower. Everything was great, a newly renovated hotel, clean and comfortable, easy access to city center. what i liked the most is the staff. especially a reception lady called Katerana who always went extra miles to sort out my problem. great hotel, excellent service!!. The hotel is new and nicely styled; modern and clean and all in good repair. They even offered a diffuser with the hair dryer. The place is convenient to many sights and major transportation. The staff speaks English, which I found very helpful. Just so convenient for everthing, and really nice comfy room! Receptionist was very helpful when we checked in, he gave us a map and marked out main areas and explained proximity to hotel - the map was well used by the end of our stay!. Antonio at reception was exceptional providing assistance when ever we asked. The manager even provided a walking cane from his grandmother after a member of our party had twisted her foot at the airport. Location was fantastic, within walking distance to shopping, museums, parks, landmarks and great food. Staff were extraordinary. Should we visit Madrid again, will definitely return to stay here. Location was excellent, two stops from Attocha and Sol and santa anna on the doorstep (both more interesting and better value than the plaza mayor). Very comfortable and quiet. I really enjoyed the comfort this hotel offers. I always look for a place which is quiet, clean, comfortable and with a friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was also good. The location in the old town near all the sites And near a Metro was perfect except immediate was dirty and appeared run down. Staff friendly and helpful. Pleasant, efficient staff. I liked Eurostars Plaza Major especially for its silence (soundproofed) although it is in the center of Madrid. Area around the hotel is not that great, but we had no problem and it was safe enough. At least my room (b501) has a very poor layout: a lot of space is spoilt by a large entry hall, a huge wardrobe where only 1/3 can be used and a too large and unpractical bathroom, looking like a corridor. The resulting impression is a too small sleeping room. Wifi was (still) not working. The thick lightproof curtains in the sleeping room were spoilt by the bathroom glass door which let all the light in. Despite their claims, WiFi did NOT reach my room at all (a major inconvenience) but did work in the dining room. They offered a hard-wired option in the lobby but my MacBook Air has no ethernet port and I surely brought no adapter. They use motion-sensor triggered lighting in the hallways which was disconcerting at night when the elevator opened onto a dark floor. We had to continue our trip too soon. Would have like to have stayed longer. The lighting circuits were a bit wonky and you had to try a combination of switches to get the bathroom light on, not major. WIFI connection is very poor. Ask reception to give you a room where the wireless signal is strong. Immediate area made us a little uncomfortable and problems with wardrobe doors meant light came for a second every time you moved. Broken window catch wouldn't close but was fixed as son as reported. No Tea and Coffee facilities in the Room. I liked everything!. The breakfast was not up to standards. Not many menu collection. The internet was bad. Nothing. Water filter should be informed to customers a day before it's done. I waited for 3 hours until water from the shower room turned from brown to clear. The internet wifi was sometimes very slow and could not be used. fresh coffee at breakfast would be great. Couldn't print boarding pass for some reason. Would like washcloths for american guests. directly opposite the entrance to the hotel is a huge dumpster, constantly filled to the brim with garbage. If you need a reference point to search for the hotel, you can use it. wifi too slow. Te air condition machine was not working properly. Parking location is unknown and price is too high (I returned the car and took the Metro to the Airport. Most of the attractions are very close so no need for a car in Madrid downtown). New hotel so some nois while construction work beeing done. No window view. Weak WiFi in room; not a great area (though it is in transition). the rooms were very cold, the heat did not work properly and internet was really slow. I have nothing to dislike. niets. Nothing at all. Cost of Parking.
