  The building looks nice. The receptionist (the manager) does not speak English, but I could tell that she tried her best to explain things and it was really nice and I felt grateful.

  The couple who own it were very welcoming and so nice. I had booked the wrong date (for the day after by mistake) and they sorted us a room very quickly. Close to Bilbao ferry so perfect location for us. Will definitely use again. - Quiet, cheap and near enough to a couple of bars.

  Pensión La Salve is not too hard to find if you do your homework. Look for it using Google Earth. If you go through Puente de La Salve it should be easy to get there. There is an easier way to go there without using the bridge, but you might have to find it there. It is about a ten minute walk from the city.   Stayed 4 nights at this well-managed hotel with very friendly and efficient staff. Our room (junior suite) had a great view on the river and the Guggenheim museum. The coloured windows are a somewhat strange gimmick, but you get used to it after a while. We enjoyed being able to rent bicycles at the hotel and discover Bilbao at our own speed. Break... vad folk säger » fast includes some quite tasty bread! - The free bikes were great. Bilbao is excellent for cycling around and we managed to get way further than on foot. Staff were really exceptionally friendly and pleasant. We used their package that included the bikes and Guggenheim tickets. Convenient. Ideally situated for the Guggenheim and old city.
