  the room felt like a small house: there was a mini bar, a porch with great view to the mountains. we had a kettle in our room which was very helpful. there were computers for use of the guests free of charge with free internet in the lobby. the staff was very helpful and kind. breakfast was great . - We travel with 1,5 year old child and it was... vad folk säger » good choice becasue hotel was quiet with resonable walking distance to main atractions like old city, harbor (10min) or central rail station (15min).   I found the hotel to be well presented despite reading reviews of the rooms being dated. I also had a room at the rear of the hotel overlooking the park which was exceptionally quiet despite reading reviews about noise.   Very contemporary hotel with luxurious lobby. Room was very large, and included a trouser press, coffee machine and small fridge. The bathroom had heated tiles. Bus and from Airport at the hotel door very reasonable rate roughly 12 dollars per person. Buses run every 15 minutes.

  There it was! The iconic Bryggen in full view from our hotel room window. The Scandic Strand could not have been better sited. Below us was the famous Fish Market and the Vagen Waterway, with only a short walk to the Floyen Mountain funicular. The only downside was late night music from a waterfront bar which kept us awake o - Room was very large and very comfortable for a family of four. The staff was accommodating, breakfast was good and the hotel was clean and comfortable. We had taken it as a stopover before our trip of the Fjords, the hotel was a great place to spend the night specially since we traveled from Oslo and reached late, there were enough places to grab a bite even at 11 in the night.
