We were traveling with my parents on a special trip and Mario and Valentina couldn't have made us feel more welcome and comfortable. The property is charming with by far the best and most magical view of Matera. The breakfast was home made by Mario's wife from some of the freshest sources in Matera and every delicious and subtle detail was appreciated. Valentina spent the entire afternoon with us - We travelled 3 weeks through the Basilicata and liked every moment of it. But Matera and the Torretta ai Sassi B&B were the absolute highlights of our trip. We thank Ms and Mr Focaccia for their warm welcome, their tips on places to visit and the interesting discussions we had over the present and the past.   we liked everything about Palazzo Degli Abati. The wonderful cave room was beautifully renovated and the owners were extremely helpful and friendly. It is beautifully appointed, the location is awesome, Matera is incredible, and there are so many great restaurants the choices are dizzying.   Fantastic hosts Nick and Guisy looked after us so well! I cannot fault this place, just excellent! They went out of their way to make sure we saw the best of Matera, dropping and collecting us from the Sassi at anytime. Very clean room and bathroom which was nice and spacious.
