  The hotel rooms were full so they offered me an apartment instead which is not bad at all. Breakfast is average, good for a 3 stars hotel though. Only one worker speak english, the rest of the staff are only German speakers.   This property is less than 100 steps from the front doors of Cologne Cathedral. It is also just a block from the main train station. It is located right in the center of all the action. It is perfect for traveling with children as it has multiple, separate bedrooms. The apartment was very clean and nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable and the apartment didn't have any features that were not kid friendly like sharp cornered tables, lots of trinkets etc.. We had three children under age four and it went smoothly. They loved looking out the window at all the action outside. The supply of free coffee and a bottle of beer was a nice touch too.   A great comfortable clean relaxing stay. Loads of snow, great sauna/pool and hot tubs (dont miss them) friendly staff and an excellent location.
