  From my experience, this was one of the best places I have stayed. The room and the guest house are excellent and the hostess is extremely friendly and helpful (and her english is perfect!!!).   We liked the location of the hotel in the picturesque village of Grainau, and also the traditional chalet design. Our spacious room with balcony looked out at the Zugspitze which was spectacular.   Great room! This room was probably the best room we stayed in during our 3 week tour of Europe. Very clean. Great patio overlooking the large backyard.   The hotel can be reached via the Zugspitzebahn, bus or taxi from the Garmisch train station. This is a lovely place, although next time we would get a room with the water view and stay longer. It was used by the US military at the end of WWII. In addition to the lake, there is an indoor swimming pool. We would like to return here for a family reunion as there are enough activities in the area for all ages.

  This small hotel is beautifuly located on the edge of Grainau village with stunning views of the mountans. The room was comfortable and we enjoyed a small balcony overlooking the garden. Breakfast was excellent although we were surprised to find several dogs in the breakfast room. They were well behaved though and we soon got used to them.
