  We loved this place! It was absolutely beautiful, in a charming setting, and the room was delightful. We walked around the whole little area, down several lanes and saw the old parish church, several farms and bridges, and the pastures and gardens, including the orchard where the apples for the homemade Petit Sully jams are grown.   My husband and I stayed at Le Castel, Noble Guesthouse in Bayeux for 3 nights. We enjoyed our stay. Our room was on the third floor (there's no elevator), simple but nicely decorated. The location was excellent---walking distance from the train station, very close to the town center, the cathedral was right in front of the house. We really liked - Madame was absolutely the perfect host, leaving us alone enough to not be rude, but interacting when comfortable and appropriate to do so. The house is her home and is simply lovely. It's close to the shops in Bayeux, the Landing Beaches and a dozen other different attractions/places of interest. the food in Bayeux was varied and value for money and the locals were very welcoming and friendly.   One of the best places we have ever stayed, and we travel a lot. The house is absolutely beautiful and extremely well decorated, great taste. A wonderful, big room, with wooden floors, polished and clean and a view on the park in front of the house. A gourmand breakfast, with different varieties of jams, ham, Camembert, fresh baguette, croissants,... vad folk säger » freshly squeezed juice and so on. Very nice hosts, and English speaking. He recommended a restaurant in Bayeux where we had a wonderful dinner and ev - The staff was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect for walking to the sites and to public transportation and right across from a large quiet park. The rooms were well decorated and very spacious. Ours looked over the garden on one side and the park on the other side. It was a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and filling and available for a reasonable time period.

  Bayeux is a picturesque town in Normandy and I'm so happy we chose La Tour Louise as our base for exploring the region. William, our host, was very hospitable and gave excellent tips on things to see and do. In fact, the places he pointed out to us were probably the highlights of our tour of the D-Day sites. The - The Location is excellent for exploring Bayeux on foot. Most of the major sightseeing is within several blocks and parking is free for those with an automobile. It is also a great point for day tripping to all parts of the Normandy coast and WWII Invasion points of interest. We stayed 3 nights and could have found enough activities for many more nights. It's a country manor house that has been beautifully decorated in a period fashion with sumptuous wall paper, drapes, antiques and fascinating paintings, sculpture and objets d'art.
