Absolute gem deep in the countryside close to Villefranche s/Saone. Beautiful chateau on a 10th century foundation, beautifully restored, with wonderful rooms, very modern baths, fine linens and towels. Wonderful breakfast, with home made jams, lovely public rooms, and superior hosts. Great place to have a glass of wine at sunset before walking

The Chateau is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are outstanding and are located in a totally refurbished stable. Guests have access to a game room in the chateau and a wonderful breakfast is also served in the chateau. The chateau is over 1000 years old and the grounds are quite lovely. Be a great place to walk or bike the countryside. It can serve as a good starting point for a visit to Beaujolais or a visit to Lyon and the Rhone Valley. Lovely building in Villefranche, but don't be put off by it's location on an industrial estate, once you go down the drive you arrive at the most wonderful building set in a delightful garden. Plus it's close to motorway exit which makes it very convenient for overnight stay.
