We stayed in Beijing at Xiao Yuan Alley Courtyard Hotel for 3 nights. It is lovely small hotel in Chinese style. It is very friendly, pleasant, comfortable and cute! It is situated in an old Beijing district Hutong, which is probably the only bastion of traditional Chinese climate left. It is situated max. 30-minute walk from the Forbidden city.

Featuring charming, ultra-helpful English-speaking staff; the Xiao Yuan Alley hotel provides comfortable beds and good facilities, with a superbly located downtown hutong (Beijing alley) location, sensibly priced organized tours (if you wish) and excellent and very reasonably priced food available inside and nearby outside the hotel. And it's a very affordable place.
I very much want to stay at this hotel again. I get happy just thinking about it. Highly recommend.

The location was very convenient as it was close to forbidden city,
tiananmen, jingshan park, and wangfujing! There is also a nice
convenience store downstairs and great alley cafe down the road. Family
room was spacious and had a pc. Its also inside a nice, quiet and
quaint compound.staff were helpful in getting us a taxi and attending
to our needs.

Hjälpsamhet och mycket trevlig personal! - A 5 star service for a very good price hotel. A little difficult to find by taxi but once there well worth it. Located 5 minute walk to nearest metro stop which is on the circle/loop line of the city. Every place of interest in the city is within easy reach from this hotel. Could not fault the servise one

We arrived in Beijing at 1am in the morning but due to difficulties with
the taxi driver finding the street this hotel was on we didn't
actually check in until 2.30am. The neon/lighted sign outside the
hotel does not read "Beijing Jinxiu Courtyard Hotel" in the
english written section however the chinese section does have that name

The hotel is just a few minutes walk from Tienanmen Square, in a very colourful area with plenty of restaurants and shops.
The room was simple but clean, the towels were changed every day.
The hotel has also a very cosy bar/restaurant area, mainly used for breakfast, and one or two computers are available if you need to use the internet.
Most of the staff speak English and they are happy to give you advice on the best ways to get to places.

Hotel was near the temple of heaven and close to a metro station so that
was very convenient. Rooms were clean. Staff was friendly but spoke
hardly any English. There was a problem with the booking but finally the
staff solved this in a proper way.
