We loved our three day stay at Hotel Welcome. It is delightful and while we considered many hotels in Brussels, we ended up at the best and are so glad we choose it. Crazy/originally equipped and decorated rooms - very creative.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Relatively well working wifi - each floor has own AP.
Both negative comments I consider sort of trade-off for stylish equipment, which is really unique.

The owner, Peter and all the staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Upon arrival, Peter gave us a book detailing all the amazing buildings on the Grand Place as well as good info regarding places worth seeing. Also the location was fantastic - close to everything - no need for a tour, you could walk all of the Old Town on your own. Lovely old hotel 100m from the Metro. We can DEFINITELY recommend it.

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the last 10-15 yrs as I work with the E.U. on several projects. I grew fond of this hotel especially because the owner (?) -a very polite lady- always made us feel very welcome. I asked about her when we stayed there last week, but the staff told me she comes to the hotel only on weekends. If possible

The bathrooms were large and very clean. The beds were clean and
comfortable --my kids liked the lofted bed area. Overall it was a small
space, but that didn't really matter to us. We had a great view out
the front of the building with a balcony.

When we looked at the write up online we were concerned that The Meininger may be a bit too basic and aimed at the young backpacker.
Whilst 'yes' a large part of the people staying were young and backpackers, we fittied in very well (We are just in our 50s !).

Everything about this hotel, from the moment you step in the front entrance is clean and tidy. It is minimal but everything you need for a comfortable stay. I stayed there with my partner and another couple and it was perfect considering we really only slept there. We stayed in the room with two single beds and a bunk and there was plenty of room. Very tidy, new, modern. We all really enjoyed our stay. All you can eat breakfast is great value for money and the on site bar is a good place to hav
