  We stayed two days in a very pleasant hotel. Room was huge, very comfortable and very clean. Nice restaurant for dinner & rich Breakfast buffet. Above all, the couple’s running the place are extremely nice as can be and would do anything possible to please & help. We've enjoyed our stay at Bürglstein very much and would recommend it to everybody ag - Excellent service at the hotel made it a pleasant stay. Wolfgang even went out of his way to help us book tickets to the railway train & gave us recommendations on where to go on rainy days, which was much needed with a 2.5 yr old toddler in tow. Our room was very clean, cosy, modern and well-equipped. There was a good selection at that buffet breakfast as well as a big collection of toys in the children's corner which kept our toddler very happy.

  We had three rooms- two with balconies and one without. All were a little bit different, but very cute. The included breakfast was a great way to start the day. They were able to hold us luggage for us the following day. A note: While I appreciate that the invoice included a tear-off coupon for the salt mines, it ends up that's it's only for 1 per... vad folk säger » son! So if you want a 2 euro discount for each person in your group, make sure to ask the front desk at Gasthof Bergfried for additional vouchers. - Loved the location, very close to center of Halstatt. If you are using gps don't trust it. The street is the first one on the right as you come out of the tunnel. Street looks like a small one way but the hotel is close with good parking. If I hadn't been watching the gps so closely I would have seen their big sign. Very nice big room but the location was awesome and town beautiful.

Please note that event though I rated the Facilities and Comfort only as "Good", they were absolutely adequate to our needs we are without any complaints.   Friendly reception by owner; great service on getting in and settled. Home style atmosphere, great cuisine! Owners take special pride in setting up a relationship with guests.   First of all the hosts were very kind and good. They're like your personal tour-operator, they even warn you about the speed limits and parking places while you're traveling around. The apartment is absolutely homey and we are impressed by the cleanliness.   Everything is perfect! The house was decorated very well. It's inviting and cozy. The kitchen is fully-equipped. There are good stoves, pots and a coffee maker. It's like a home. Elisabeth, the owner of Apt. make trip so easy for us, she is a great host. It felt us that we stay at our own house. Its clean and warm. Probably staying at Obertraun is better then hallstatt which is less touristic and more close to Mt. Dachstein.
