The young couple running this small motel were very friendly and they take good care of the place: rooms are very clean, comfortable and very practical since there's a small kitchen (most motels we've stayed at in Australia only had a small kitchenette area with a kettle and sometimes a microwave). This one had a microwave, a sink and dishes and cuttlery so that was perfect! Other than that, it is on the Great Ocean Road, so great location, beach, supermarket and restaurants are less than 2 min.
alla recensioner » We loved the convenience of the Beachfront Motel, not least because we knew that we would be arriving after it was dark. It is very well-designed with the units arranged at right angles to the main road and shielded from any traffic noise by the reception area and office. Each of the units is equipped with its own mini-kitchen and this makes it perfect for an extended stay on the coast. The room was spacious and clean, lots of room for luggage and a well supplied kitchenette. The location was quiet and had a nice beach view/access. The bed was comfortable, however the pillows need replacing. They were hard and uncomfortable. The shower had great water pressure, certainly woke you up in the morning! A good place to spend a few days exploring the Apollo Bay Area. Beachfront Motel was a great find. The room was spotlessly clean with all the facilities you could need. The motel is located right on the main drag of Apollo Bay and is within 5 to 10 minutes walk of everywhere, including bars, restaurants, shops and the tourist information office. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for accomodation in Apollo Bay. The guy at the front desk was very friendly. The room was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. It came with a little kitchen and there was nice separation between the bedroom and bathroom. Just stayed for one night but I would definitely recommend for those looking for a well- priced place to stay within close distance to attractions on the Great Ocean Road. T.V reception was poor at times, although it might be due to the poor weather. Not being able to use a portable device on the T.V (ie; dvd player, game console, etc). The glass window in the bathroom and kitchen is kind of translucent, peeping tom might have easy access. Might want to improve on the security in this area. Other than that, everything else is perfect. Beachfront is a bit of a misnomer as it is across the road from the beach and the ocean view is hidden by the buffs. But great otherwise. Sun through small skylight, but we found the cord for the blind that would have covered it in the morning, so our fault really. Nothing. Nothing. Was a great little budget place. The pillows were a little hard and uncomfortable. No air con. The room was not that private - you had to close the blind to get privacy. No complaints..... . not a lot, it was a great experience. The driveway had a slight steep spot and every time I would leave it would scrape the bottom of my car which was very painful to hear. Nothing!! Everything was perfect. Kitchen had no heats to cook. Quite expensive for standard of room but it was New years eve!. Nothing. Not used to seeing ceiling beams over the bed. Room could be made brighter. No complaints. Nothing.
