  A cosy place with the most amazing spa: Jaccuzzis, hot pool, steamroom, sauna, massage etc., all situated in a forest-like environment. Exellent breakfast. Gonna take my wife there, ALONE. - It was nice, we enjoyed our stay. Most of the time we went out for tours. Staff was very friendly.

  Whilst the location was 2Km outside the town, it was only a £4 taxi ride and the quite location was well worth the short ride (we walked along the sea-wall which was very pleasant and only took 25 minutes).   We spent 2 nights in El Calafate, wished could have stayed longer to extend the stay at La Cantera. Service was perfect, Giorgina in particular made our stay soo easy, smooth and hassle free that made us happy to be there. Recommendations for excursions were right, breakfast was very good (ask my gf for the homemade cakes), room big and clean. Loc... vad folk säger » ation was not a big issue as per other reviews: most of the tours come to pick you-up, car service is provided for free between 20-24h and when not av - Staff were very attentive to our needs, made our lack of language diversity simple by helping in english, the dinner menu and chef were amazing and our expectations from other travellers who commended the chef online were easily met with evidence of his skill. The tours organised through the hotel were cheaper than those we had researched online. Thanks!

  We are a couple from Mexico in our fisrt trip to Calafate. We found Hosteria Meulen wonderful and clean. Hostesses were very nice and always worried about our satisfaction.   Very much liked the hospitality of Analia and Adrian who were supporting us in organizing and recommending trips around El Calafate. Very friendly and lovely people!   All staff including the restaurant one went way beyond their duty, so nice and helpful. The location was perfect for us, best view of the lagos in town and only few minutes walk or cab from town if you need to go there. Rooms are super clean but a bit basic, we didn't mind as we spent so little time in there and the rest wa - The view from the windows is amazing. Full panoramic look of the lake. The staff is amazing and honest and speak English. They gave us some good recommendations about places in the town. The room had nothing special. Regular, one bed + tv + window (huge though) room + bathroom ... The price (probably due to off season) was very attractive.

  Excellent place. It is really a “boutique” hosteria, similar to an upscale American (not British) B&B. New building with stylish, Argentinian estancia-themed décor—lots of varnished logs, exposed stone, etc. Large, elegantly furnished common areas, delightful breakfast area, and large outside deck, all with expansive views over the town, lake,... vad folk säger » and mountains. About a 10 minute walk to town, but you will need to use a cab when first arriving with luggage since the road is not paved all the wa - Lovely styling, view, breakfast. Very comfortable. Staff speaks very little English but helped me with many things with my broken Spanish ( did a great job with laundry and reasonably priced, taxi in the morning, booking me for another day, holding my suitcase while I travelled elsewhere for a night.
