In a beautiful location overlooking the bay and close to the centre of Oban we had a great visit. The owner recommended two excellent restaurants nearby where we had lovely seafood (and reserved them for us). The rooms were spacious, tastefully decorated and clean, and the breakfast was copious and well-prepared.

Colin, Francis and the gang were terrific and very helpful re local info, restaurants, etc. We wished we had stayed longer. Stellar, friendly, helpful hosts (thanks Mark & Jan!), fab room with stain glass window and breath-taking view of the sea and promenade, Mark's Scottish Breakfast utterly delicious, lovely attention to detail including snifter of sherry, great location next door to beautiful ruin (Dunollie Castle) we will come back. Chief highlight of our three week Scottish tour was Oban in general and the Barriemore in particular.

The Old Manse is a delightful place to stay. The owners are great hosts and they have an attention to detail. Upon arrival they helped us with our bags and offered us a cold beer. The decor in the room we stayed in was superb and we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was delicious but a little more variety could have helped. -

It was our first trip with our 6 week old baby - the hotel could not have been more welcoming! As it is a high standard of formal dining offered at the hotel we were uncomfortable taking our baby in to the dining room, the staff set up a small private dining experience for us so we could still have a lovely dinner but not disturb other guests! stayed in room 67 in the building behind the main facility and couldnt
recommend it more. We got a great deal (£66 booked on the same day -
spur of the moment stop-over), the room had a personal sauna, the
restaurant was absolute quality and worth the £80 we paid for 3 courses.
The hotel also had a decent pool, sauna, steam room etc. Will definitely
strive to go back in the near feature.
