Stayed here for a night over the bank holiday weekend and have to say the whole stay was fantastic. We were lucky enough to get the Bass Rock room which surprise surprise has amazing views of Bass Rock! It also has a large comfy bed, great shower/ensuite and direct access to the deck. There's a fridge in the room to chill a bottle of wine for drinking on the deck.
The accomodation is located on a beautiful bay with a path down to a lovely secluded beach.

Muy bien ubicado en el centro de la ciudad con acceso a recorrer andando cada rincon de Edimburgo, muy limpio en todo momento con la posibilidad de conocer gente de todo el mundo con la que practicar tu Ingles. Hay que destacar la amabilidad de todo su personal que siempre tiene una sonrisa para recibirte y ayudarte en todo lo que necesites. When we arrived the introduction/explanation of services etc was good with clear, simple explanation of what to do and where things were. The 'owners' were very welcoming.
Brown's was very clean; there was good provision of every day items, teas, coffees and toiletries.
Breakfast was also good with a good range of items.
No critique at all.

The room - 4- was very comfortable and tastefully furnished.(the 'detached' en suite was managed very well and we appreciated the robes)
I have a thing about white cotton sheets and towels and Fraoch House gets first prize! Excellent!
My cooked breakfast of smoked salmon, cream chees and bagel was delicious! Just right :-)
My husband went for the full Scottish and he was equally pleased.

We chose this because we don't like to be in the center of the big towns we visit. Even if it is a little bit far from the Edinburgh centre, the bus connection is excellent and at a few steps from the house. The Portobello beach is also close, a stunning place, really worth a visit.
