The hotel is in a perfect location - right opposite the Kyoto station. The station itself is an excellent place for shopping and eating. In front of the hotel is the bus station, which has the buses that will take you to all the sights in Kyoto. Basically, the location of the hotel cannot be better.

Excellent American-style service (ie. help with luggage, staff always ready to assist), plus an incredibly good location, VERY close to station! (And also just across from a Post Office, coffee shop and handy 7/11-style convenience store). Room was larger than I'm used to when staying in Japan, and kept very clean. By taxi ( because it was very hot and humid in July) we went by taxi to a lot of marvelous sites. They had everything we could ever want at the Inn. Such as towels, a variety of dishes, tourism pamphlets, coffee maker, bottles of water, shampoo and condition, dishwasher, washer and dryer! We didn't need to bring anything other than ourselves and our clothes.
It was very spacious for 5 people!
There was lots of English around to help us use the appliances!
