The staff was great.. They reset the rooms everytime we went out..
Also made beds in the morning when we went for break fast.. Break fast
which was included in the room price was great.. The room and
facilities were very clean. The view from our room on the 5th floor of
the lake and the streets nearby was superb.. Many of the major sight
seeing locations were just walking distance.. For eg; the gion and
many shrines.. Also many restaurants nearby though many of them were

Perfectly located in the middle of city. Near to restaurants, shopping, walking distance to Gion and temples. By taxi ( because it was very hot and humid in July) we went by taxi to a lot of marvelous sites. Japanese breakfast (over 20 different plates/boxes with magnificent food) or Western Breakfast both very good.
Old style but still comfortable. The Japanese ladies go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable.
The old style hot bath is ultra relaxing.
The location is excellent with easy access to the centre of town. And on the number 5 bus route to the eastern side temples.
Very friendly staff and professional. Handled all our needs efficiently
and well. Not a country spa, but facilities more than adequate for in-
city accomodation. In the hreart oif a restaurant area and easily
acessible by bus, with a Starbucks practically on the corner. .
The reception is very nice. The room is very clean and comfortable as well.

Only drawback is that this is not an authentic ryokan experience in my
view.. Also considering the price that you pay.. This is a 7 storey
building.. With the guest rooms arranged in a ryokan way..
Not very close to train station or important temples and shrines, so
traveler who is not fanmiliar with bus system or Japanese language
should anticipate some hefty cab fares.
Staffs spoke terrible English
Poor internet service in the hotel.
