  Loved the atmosphere on the grounds with the open-air lobby and tropical landscaping. The on-site restaurant had excellent food and a view of the pool and ocean. The tiki torch lighting in the evenings with the sound of the conch shell and great entertainer was also very memorable. All the people in the resort were very friendly and welcoming. It was a really nice touc - We liked how close we were to the beach. I left my sliding glass door open all night so I could hear the ocean. Very soothing. There are a lot of places to stay on Maui, I feel that I stayed in the best location!! Easy to get in and out. Hwy 30 just down the street. The staff made it extremely easy to come and go. They weren't pushy, but available when you needed them.

  This is Hawaii's Hawaiian Hotel. We had a room on the main floor, garden view, room 178 (smoking outside). It didn't face the large area of the garden, but it did have a small garden outside our room. We enjoyed it more because it was secluded. You could see the ocean through the trees. Many lounge chairs on the grass area and under trees. It is a 5 m - The Ka'anapali Beach Hotel is built upon traditional Hawaiian values and friendliness. The staff are helpful and friendly. The hotel sponsors a cultural enrichment and community give-back program that encourages its employees to honor their Hawaiian culture and to participate in community ventures. I was particularly impressed with the children's passport activity in which each child is issued a passport with their Hawaiian name. My daughter loved going to the various places, telling her Hawaii

  The place itself was absolutely amazing. It was very high end and well done from the fixtures to the landscaping. The yoga was a great touch and I loved the fact it didn't feel "Marriott" or "Hilton" at all. It's next to Pa'ia which was a great little hippie town with very affordable food. - Loved the relaxing vibe and the evening meal

  The swimming pool complex was amazing and well-suited for both a 1-year-old and an 8-year-old. A great place for a multi-generational family vacation...perfect for families traveling with the grandparents. Everyone had fun! Exceptional staff.   The staff and guests just seemed so much more pleasant and approachable than other resorts we visited in the area. The location, beach and quiet were ideal for us. We visited the Four Seasons, Andaz and Grand Wailea and just felt more "at home" at the Makena.
