As a mom traveling with 2 teenagers, I thought this was a great place. It's an older hotel that could use updating, but it's clean, staff is friendly and it has free parking. It's perfect if you do not plan on spending a lot of time in your room. We left every morning by 9am and came back around 7pm, so it was perfect for the amount of time we spent there. It looks a bit run down on the outside, but inside the rooms have been renovated and are very nice indeed: meticulously clean, very comfortable. There was a fridge and a microwave in ours, very handy. Spotless bathroom. Free (ample) parking in SF is invaluable. Location is very good too, just a very short walk off the lively Union street, convenient for buses... Overall, definitely recommended, we'll stay there again if we're ever in the area.

Stayed 4th Dec 2013.Hotel location great, just at entrance to Chinatown and short walk to Union Square and Market Street, only there for 2 nights so good for us. Staff very helpful and let us leave our bags there after checkout until early evening until we flying out. Very clean and big bed and plenty space in the room. Shower in bathroom great pressure and nice and hot.
Would recommend for short stopover, certainly not luxury but adequate.

The Hotel is a bit dated but very clean, I stayed in deluxe king room, paid close to 70 bucks a night, I must say I'm very impress. the room is quiet large with hardwood floor, bed is comfy, place is clean, the building is old but well maintain. I had a room that was large and very clean. Frig and microwave in room. It was easy access to the street, and I love this area of San Francisco. Close to Palace of Fine Arts, the Marina and shopping on Chestnut St. If the price is as competitive next year as this year when I visit San Francisco, I will definitely stay there.

but clean. This is a funky old art deco style motor hotel that is
maintained to accommodate budget travelers-don't expect valet
parking, or luxury amenities, but do enjoy the no frills quick check in,
working ice/pop machines, in room coffee, and cable tv. And they
have smoking rooms if you are so inclined.

Ideally situated for everything. In Union Square in 2 minutes and easy access to all forms of transport. Staff were friendly and helpful and the diner next door excellent. Everything on the doorstep. Being in the city centre meant it was noisy at night but earplugs were provided. We slept very well without resorting to them. Very happy with it all and thoroughly recommend the hotel.
