  85 year old plus Uncle Fred took us to dinner while we were staying at the Harrington. Fred stayed at the Harrington in 1947, and leaving the hotel bumped into Harry Truman. &Quot;Where are you stationed, Soldier?" asked Truman. Most importantly, it is in a great location, being very close to all the popular tourist destinations. There is a fun bar in the lobby, and the cafe provides a decent, well priced breakfast. I thoroughly recommend this one.

  Staff. Helpful and friendly, chatty. Hot showers. Big house, communal rooms with big Tvs and sofas. About a 4 block walk to Verizon centre and the gallery metro. Free pc Internet access. Codes to main door and all rooms, seemed very safe/secure. My 6 bed ladies room had at the least 2 of us for a couple nights and Max 4 the other nights! I would stay at the facility again if a need should arise. It was conveniently located an for the money, could not do better. Thanks for the Hospitality.

  Once we upgraded to a bigger room we were much more comfortable. Two people could fit in the room that had two queen beds in the room. the staff was amazing and so helpful.

  Room was comfortable - TV on swivel base was neat! Microwave & mini-fridge were added benefits at no extra cost. Conveniently located along a fairly quiet city street. Within walking distance of several buses, and also comfortable distance to restaurants, convenience stores etc. Well suited for a brief business trip. Staff was generally polite & responsive e.g. when my iron malfunctioned, they replaced it promptly. - The location is fabulous, very close to all public transportation and only a few stops from the Verizon center, China Town, the White House and many museums. Our room consisted of a suite with a small kitchen, living room and bed room. We loved the space! Breakfast was better than many places we've stayed and included scrambled eggs and morning biscuits - not bad! The price was terrific and the value excellent for this part of DC. Really....

  The only downside to staying here is the on-street parking, which is difficult in this neighborhood, given the embassies and restricted resident-only parking areas. Other than that, it was a great place to stay. Friendly staff, clean rooms, free breakfast, great location. Hair dryer and ironing board were supplied.
