Staff. Helpful and friendly, chatty. Hot showers. Big house, communal rooms with big Tvs and sofas. About a 4 block walk to Verizon centre and the gallery metro. Free pc Internet access. Codes to main door and all rooms, seemed very safe/secure. My 6 bed ladies room had at the least 2 of us for a couple nights and Max 4 the other nights! Good kitchen area.
The Staff was overwhelmingly wonderful. Paul was very nice; but Bernard was outstanding. He went far beyond the call of duty making us feel comfortable. A very good stay for the price I paid. Plus the friendliness of the
staff and other customers. It reminded me of my younger days, when I hitch-
hiked from Gaspé to Vancouver Island, while hostelling along my way.
Note that I appreciated the central location of this hostel.
I stayed just one night and was leaving very early and the place was perfect for what I needed, friendly stuff and atmosphere, very clean, convenient location. Would definitely stay again if I was looking for a budget-friendly place to stay while exploring D.C.
Staff was very friendly and helpfull, hostel was homelike and clean, wifi worked perfectly, they have also computer to use, if you dont have your own. Great localization, I felt safe there, few minutes from supermarket and restaurants, close to metro station.
I think that the location is good because is close to the places you want to visit on a vacation trip.

The staff was friendly & most helpful on where to go for shops, museums and transportation. For the budget traveler, being able to have a small cooking area was most appreciated.

I really enjoyed my stay at the capital view hostel... it's a calm place and very close to a metro station... the staff is very kind and the place itself is very safe to stay.
I like the building!!, The location is perfect. Use the city bikes and you are at the mall in few minutes. In the walking distance to union station = buses to NYC.
Location is great. It is well-equipped and quit clean. The common space is fine. It is a good place to stay as a group of friends travelling together.

The location is really nice, the kapitol and union station are within walkable distance and china town is also near.
One can find a grocer store in the neighborhood (safeway); the restaurants in DC are quite expensive so the well-suplied kitchen represents a cheap alternative.

Located relatively near to sightseeing spots. The female receptionist with the optical glasses was very very friendly and helpful.
It was fairly close to everything. Definitely a workout to the National
Mall but nothing too crazy. Area was good too.

I would compare it to your college days, dorm living. Be respectful of others & you'll be fine. I can't say anything negative, it was more than I expected. The staff made it.
The ac wasn't very comfortable in the rooms, too cold and windy, and
you couldn't set it yourself. The constant threats of being charged
extra on all signs with rules adds an unpleasant stiffness.

Internet is very slow!!! And you need to bring your own lock. Rooms are small.
Reception is not 24 hours. .Their start working from 10 am to 10 pm only..If you arrived at 10 pm onwards then you need to wait until 10 am.

I stayed in a room facing street. It was noisy at night,even after midnight. The location is not very safe. Better not go out in the evening as single young woman.The closest supermarket is 20minutes away by walking.

Our room (which was the one beside the kitchen) was somehow old and dirty. The walls and the ceiling had stains and there were even holes in the walls (through one went a pipe, through the other the air conditioning apparently working. Not all of the receptionists were friendly.
Staff wasn't available after 9- 10pm. There were late arrivals and
they kept banging on the door and we can't let them in or we get
fined. I knew about no shoes in the room. But you can't have food or
drinks in the room. You can't bring your own bedding. And parking
sucks. People literally will kill for a spot.
At night the homeless and others hung around the outside of the area making a lot of noise.
I had a big luggage and have to lift it using stairs (no elevator). The price for all female bedroom is higher than other bedroom.
Needs a bit renovation, especially doors and windows should be painted. Though you claim on your site it has been shortly renovated. No cheating guests to be!.
