After reading some of the reviews, I was a little dubious but we arrived, checked in and it was lovely. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean and well stocked - we even had a fan which was much appreciated over the very hot weekend. My husband and I are in our 50's and it was our first weekend away with our two dogs. They too were made to feel very welcome. My husband and i came to the Teignmouth area for our honeymoon and return for our 25th wedding anniversary. When we got to our room there was an anniversary card from Nicky and Brian.Nicky had also booked us a table at a local restaurent.Brian was a great chef and breakfast was very good. They were both very helpful and friendly. Our room had agreat view of the sea and we had a lovely weekend at Thornhill. Definitely come again.

I stayed here in March as I wanted to stay in this historic property. Wow what a great decision that was, the whole house is fabulous, full of character, spotlessly clean, stylish and beautifully appointed. Greeted wonderfully by the owners, a Devon home made cream tea on arrival in their beautiful sitting room in big leather chairs. the owner, lady bently as i like to call her is a good sort no hairs and grace's and a very passionate woman indeed. my single room was clean and the bed comfy with a really nice duvet and proper pillows, English breakfast was pefectly cooked and fresh. and it has car parking spaces. So would I stay there again? Yes.

Staff and room excellent! Very friendly and helpful. Room was of a high standard and the bathroom huge. Room 3 is the room to stay in. Would definitely return in future. Asked my partner to marry me (she said yes :))and the management gave us a bottle of bubbly on the house. Which I thought was lovely of them.
