Can't fault the food, good honest home cooked food, extraemly good sized portions and very well cooked, not the usual "fine dining " served up in country inns, which is why we booked up at the pheasent, the mixed grill is a must!! not silly pots with drizzel on the plates but a good well presented dish.. well done!!

Great welcome from assistant manager Ryan. E He has excellent customer
service skills. The room was pleasant the beds good quality and the area
quiet and rustic. Was babysiting for the family who were at a wedding at
a larger hotel close to Oakham and the room rate was half that hotel and
comfort wise we experienced twice as much. For a 10 min drive stay at

Charming country house ambience. Very comfortable double bed.
2 minutes stroll to Uppingham School hall where we were attending a charity ball.-- so no worries about drinking and driving or needing a taxi.
