the staff from our arrival were more than helpfull, and went out there way to find us a nice resturant to eat in and made the reservation for us. the hotel and the staff were brilliant! - The location and view from our room was excellent as was the room itself. The staff were all friendly and helpul and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent as was the value for money. The leisure facilities were great too - we used the pool, jacuzzi and steam room on arrival after a 5 hour journey and it was a great way to unwind. - the bar and restaurant are excellent. the leisure club is superb. the rooms

The room was very well appointed and decorated. It was very large, bright and clean. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, with a wide section. The bar snacks were nicely presented and good vaule for money. Service was excellent and housekeepng was of a very high standard. Staying at this hotel made our visit really enjoyable

The new managers had just taken over and had many issues to deal with. They made us feel very welcome and accomodated our needs well. The hotel needs some TLC but is comfortable and the rooms were adequate for the price. Overall, a nice place to stay near to the city (15 Min) walk or bus directly outside, generous parking area. -

All the staff were excellent and welcoming. The entrance, bar and lounge have been recently renovated and look far better than 7 years ago when I last stayed here. The lift is ‘Quirky’ with a certain old fashioned charm. Redecoration has just started on the staircase (Nov 2013) and I am sure it will be better for the work. The location for shopping is excellent and the hotel has its own secure underground car park, although it is a short walk from the hotel. The food is the best in Scarborough.

everything,from the warm welcome,taking care of our bags,being close to town,lovely room,nice and clean, comfy beds,brilliant breakfast,and secure place to keep our luggage so we could squeeze every last minute out of our holiday,and only five minute walk from railway station, and only a few feet away from the entrance to the medieval walls....altogether a brilliant place, a added bonus we loved was all the fun plaques outside each bedroom,it brought history alive.

Blown away by the plush, stylish apartment. We visited York with my parents & this 2-bedroom apartment suited us much better than two separate hotel rooms, as it provided a social space (kitchen, dining table, sofas and TV)
Incredibly convenient for walking to key places in York; train station, the Shambles, the Minster and, highlight of the trip for my husband, the National Rail Museum.
The lovely Heather at reception is also wonderfully helpful :)
