Was upgraded from executive double to executive suite on arrival which was a nice surprise. The decoration and facilities in the room were superb, one of the best rooms that I have ever stayed in. The room we stayed in was a gold room, clearly refurbished to a high standard. Luxurious room with a view out over the gardens and down to the sea. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Ideally placed for a five minute walk down into the harbour where there is a range of bars and clubs. There is a slight hill walk down and back up to the hotel but we didnt find it that bad although it could be for the less agile. All in all a fantastic stay and we will definitely stay again.

Staff were very professional, friendly & attentive providing an excellent service. Food was very good but perhaps a little expensive. Lovely location with spectacular views. New leisure facilities at the hotel (gym, sauna etc) will be great when finished. The pool is fantastic.

we stayed in one of the lodges. very quiet, very comfortable and spacious 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Introduced my wife and young daughter to the driving range and now they are both hooked! Breakfast was excellent as was the clubhouse and swimming pool. Perfect location for Dartmouth, Salcombe and South Devon. -

After reading some of the reviews, I was a little dubious but we arrived, checked in and it was lovely. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean and well stocked - we even had a fan which was much appreciated over the very hot weekend. My husband and I are in our 50's and it was our first weekend away with our two dogs. They too were made to feel very welcome. We had a wonderful relaxing stay at The Royal. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable when we asked for advice on places to visit. The room was clean and tidy with white sheets and the bed was very comfortable. The Hotel had a lot of character and the view from the balcony was amazing. We will be visiting this hotel again.
