  Very good value for money. Lovely flowers and chocs in room on arrival, food was excellent (our compliments to the chef and staff) and a lovely location.   we are not a fussy couple, we just like value for money and that is what we got,the staff could not have been more helpful, as it was a late booking for our wedding anniversary, and you gave us a family room overlooking the river.as you had no doubles with a river view available.we where married at pistyl falls 4 years ago and we return every year... hva folk sier » to celebrate our wedding,and always stop over in Llangollen the night before, and enjoy the mountain drive through pandy, would we stay at the hand a - My husband and I were going to a funeral the following day and wanted a peaceful place to stay. We found all staff friendly, our room overlooked the river which made our stay tranquil. Nothing was too much for staff. The breakfast was 5 star - excellent, hot, hot, hot.   I can't say enough nice things about this place. I got a virus on my first day so spent more time than intended in the accommodation. Great facillities; lounge with books and games, kitchen with free tea, coffee & condiments as well as space to store own food. Helpful and friendly staff. Lovely rooms. Kids loved the lounge room with the huge selection of games for them to play. Great to have the use of a very clean , fully equipped kitchen too.   This very old pub is in the centre of town, and the hosts are very helpful and friendly. I was upgraded to the top room in the building because it was Sunday and the lounge was closed on that day, so if you are looking for an extra large room, that was it, as it had a large bedroom, double bed, entry hall and large separate lounge room. The pub has private free parking. - The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, complete with an enormous flat-screen tv. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant served delicious and interesting food. Gales is centrally located in the town of Llangollen, which is incredibly charming, with plenty of opportunities for hiking nearby. Great overall experience.

  The hotel was described in it's brochure as 'Luxury on the River Dee'...and it certainly was that! Our room was large, clean and had a balcony with fantastic views overlooking the river. I would definitely recommend booking one of the VIP rooms for the extra £20 or so.
