Everything. We go to The Lakes often, but had not stayed in Keswick. The location, staff, room (very spacious) and facilities were very good indeed. We really look forward to returning soon to The Skiddaw Hotel. - Central location, high standard of accommodation, friendly staff.

Location excellent..in a quiet valley about 5 km from Keswick, a
tourist center. No other buildings around except for the Inn. I could
hike into spectacularly rough mountains in 5 minutes by foot from the
inn. Nice log fire, lovely and warm in the rooms. Each room is slightly
different. The one known as Causey Pike has massive windows towards the
mountains. Food was fine, and breakfasts were hearty with everything
one could think of.

We stayed for one night with our three children (aged 9, 7 and 5). The location is wonderful with views over Derwent Water. We had not stayed in a Youth Hostel before but it really suited us and we would definately consider going back. The children enjoyed the pool table and table tennis table. This is a fantastic place to stay in a perfect location. We travelled to Keswick by train and bus then walked to the hostel.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful
Food was good value, very tasty and plentiful.
Liked having a proper sheet, pillow case and clean duvet cover.
Self catering provision was excellent.
Great facilities for children (table tennis, pool, games).
Loved my stay.

A most charming inn set in a beautiful location overlooking Skiddaw. The staff were exceptionally friendly and as for the food - what can we say but 5 Star with emphasis on top quality local produce cooked with flair and presented with style. The breakfasts were exceptional especially the smoked haddock. When we got to Lakeside House we were personally shown to our room - No 1. The room was very roomy, comfortable and nicely decorated. The bed was huge! The location was brilliant - just a short walk to the centre of Keswick. Breakfast was excellent - particularly the Eggs Benedict. All the staff were friendly and gave us good advice on places

Everything! Warm and friendly, welcoming, respectful, happy and competent staff, wonderful breakfasts beautifully prepared/cooked, decor restful with warm tones modern but not clinical. And the view from our bedroom window was truly spectacular. We will return without hesitation or doubt!

We had a fantastic time. We emailed them to day we would be arriving early and emailed straight back to say our room was ready. Coffee and tea on arrival. Lots of good advise on the local area, rooms clean and beautifully decorated. The owners were friendly and welcoming, the food was really good and will do evening meals if requested, have their own bar. Loved it, the location is perfect looking out on to the hills. We have booked again!

It was a lovely comfortable and spacious apartment with unexpected little touches like towels, toiletries and tea &coffee making facilities. It was more like staying in a hotel with the freedom of self catering, although you could dine in the hotel across the road if you wished. Also great to be able to take my dog on holiday. -
