  I asked for a ground floor room when I booked. However, Jan contacted me almost straight away to say that there was no ground floor rooms and no lift, so my wife would have to go up a staircase. I thought it was a very nice thing to do (pre-warned etc). Hotel car park was full, but there was ample street parking. We were warmly greeted by Jan and ... hva folk sier » her husband (Mick?) and shown to our room. The room was perfectly adequate with freeview tv, free wi-fi and plenty of tea/coffee/sugar/milk. The prom - We loved everything about the hotel. The owner was very friendly and helpful and it was the most dog friendly hotel we have ever stayed in. The room was clean, comfy and spacious enough for our dog. Although the hotel was full, there was no noise, in fact we thought it was quite empty. the car park is small but there is plenty of parking on the road next to the hotel. We will definitely return.

  I don't stay at many guest house/B&Bs these days due to new family but if this sector of British holiday History slips into extinction I hope The Ashmount is the last one to survive.   Nice location the people were nice and the views are to dye for nice. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean overall for the price it was great - I was greeted by such a friendly staff member and nothing was too much trouble for her to make my stay enjoyable. Great breakfast. Parking on site
