Location was the main factor. Easy walking distance to Gibraltar boarder, but equally important was the price and that the rooms were clean and the variety of room sizes (from single to 4 people) made it the best choice for the large group of people we had needing accommodations. My guests used the restaurant for breakfast one day, but just toast, coffee, and juice. Checking in and out was easy and my gps (and my guests - no gps) found it without any problem. It was nice that La Linea restauran.

Staff very friendly. Food in the restaurant excellent & value for money. Close to Gibralter - You can walk across the border. Second time we have stayed here, third for my partner and they remembered us! This hostel is basic but very clean and tidy, it has been refurbished since i was there in 2009 food in restaurant is good home cooking, Very friendly staff and owner. Nothing too much trouble, will be back. Very good value clean accommodation - comfortable beds, good showers, friendly staff, decent restaurant with very keen pricing, though the menu is limited everything is tasty and very good value. Very handy for Gibraltar tourists - it's a 10-15 minute walk to the frontier and airport. This was the best hostal we have ever stayed at. It is clean, fresh and friendly. Bathrooms new. The Restaurant has the very best "Menu" value we have found. Friendly English speaking staff and all so very close to the boarder. Thank You. The owner and his family were very friendly and always helpfull. I would recommend this hostel for anyone who could not afford a more expensive hotel as it was clean and had all the basics in the room plus a restaurant as well. The location to airport and Gibraltar. Close to eating places with a restaurant at the Hostel. Work being done to improve the facilities with the furnishings being just the basics. Did not spend a lot of time in our room. I really liked this place. It was a small room, but it was confortable and clean. Very close to Gibraltar and to the bus station. They also let us leave our luggage there when we went to Gibraltar for the day. the small room was quite adequate. A walk to the border of gibraltar was easy for this 82 year old man. the location in the city was excellent. the staff was small but accomodating. I would stay there again. Wifi was very good, excellent location for Gib, and near by good cafes and chinese restaurant.Hotel Menu looked very good but not available Sat / Sun night when we there :( deffo re-visit. Basic clean accommodation excellent value for money. Room cleaned daily and clean towels daily. 5 mins walk from Gib border. Lots of bars and restaurants locally. will definitely return. Great location. Right next to town square and lots of restaurants. Also our reason for going to LaLinea was to see the rock of Gilbralter. It was a nice easy 5 min walk. Hotel clean. We had trouble accessing the wifi from our rooms. Perhaps it was our room location, but never really could get a good connection. No problem down in the lobby/restaurant area. There is no parking available on site. Just if you happened to get lucky on the street in front and it's a weekend when you don't have to pay. The parking garages are a bit painful at 18Euro a day. Just so people are aware. The parking garage is very close though, you can see it from the front steps of the Hotel. Noise travels from one room to another very easily. could be a problem if busy. Stopped twice, the 2nd time the room smelt of smoke. Parking is a slight issue but thats not the fault of the hostel, La Linea is a very busy town, less then 1km from the actually frontier of Gib. BUT owner always let us know if there was a parking space free in front of La Campana, even knocking on our door. No negatives to speak of really - don't expect a view from the windows as it's down a side street and shutters are in place anyway. No tea/coffee making facilities in rooms so bring your own. Acoustics aren't the best and you are able to hear what is happening in other rooms. parking could be expensive. however, the hotel did have an available space on the occasion of our visit. Sat night bit noisy- close the windows !. If you want to be picky you could find faults with the hostel but for the money it costs it is amazing. I wouldn't eat in the restaurant again. I would try somewhere else. We only stayed one night. Our travelling companion was given a smoking room. He probably could have changed rooms had he have asked but for those non-smokers it is worth stipulating preference. Just the parking but thats not their fault. walls a little thin so sound from loud television next door travelled!. Please practice English a little bit :). aircon system difficult to get any heat from. Cannot fault it, it's a good budget hostel. Guests in next room were very noisy into the early hours of the morning. A little low on facilities but not bad for the cost. Nothing. - Pretty hard to park a car - we had to park 300m from the place and it was Sunday - Rooms are old and it smells a bit in them. nothing to dislike. On the morning we were checking out and on the stairs there was a cockroach, all be it dead. the beds are sooooo hard. The jacuzzi was too cool ( only joking ! ). not applicable. Breakfest was very poor (two slices of bread and coffey or tea). If you want more, you have to pay for it. The lock on the door seemed a little insecure. It was very noisy in the bedroom you could hear the people next door as if they were in bed with you, even when the night porter made coffee, you could hear the cups being put on the table, it was incredibly noisy, the whole place could do with some serious sound proofing, a real shame as if it was a bit cleaner and if it was not noisy then it would be a fantastic place to stay and visit Gibraltar. The 2nd room was not ready or on their bookings. Nothing it is what it is a hostal. The tv's are a bit small. Lack in facilities for pram/wheelchair access. Nothing. Nothing. none. Hard beds, paper thin walls and a horrid smell from the drains. Our room was cramped (two beds put in a single room). The lights in the hallway were auto-timed to turn off leaving the hallway very dark - not great when you first arrive and don't know where the light switches are!. Floor felt like it could be much cleaner. Noise isolation is very weak. They had no record of my booking. Blankets not very clean.
