  Forget the reviews about how it takes a long time to get anywhere - plot courses of shortest distances on the map they give you and only use tram / boat for novelty. Awesome bridges and islands around lagoon tend to be shortest route(s). Staff and service best I've ever seen. They all live in Hawaii - they're happy! Track charges during stay by ke... wat mensen zeggen » eping a note of bills along the way. It isn't that expensive - and anyway you're in Hawaii! - The place is beautiful! It really is quite impressive. Lots of things to do. You really don't ever even have to leave the resort. But if you want to one of my favorite beaches Hapuna is right up the road. I also really liked the products they had in their bathroom so much so I bought some to take home with me.

  It's an older resort but that is not a problem at all. Fabulous resort facilities, very clean and comfortable room (partial ocean view) with great service. You can't swim in the ocean directly from the hotel but it is such a dramatic location as the resort is positioned directly on lava rock. Views of the ocean are stunning. Watching the manta ray... wat mensen zeggen » s from the restaurant and bar was beautiful. The location is terrific with plenty of beaches and bays to explore. A hire car is a good idea. - Beautiful location, spent the most of my time at the resort because it was so beautiful and relaxing. Amazing pool to sit back with a Mai Tai and watch the sunset. Watched the manta rays feeding and ate delicious 'spider shrimp' at Rays on the Bay. Would definitely recommend to others and would stay there again myself

  The hotel was nice. It was very fitting to the small country feel in Hilo. Jade was so nice and very prompt with having stuff out for breakfast in the morning. The view was amazing! - Jade was super friendly and really made us feel welcome! Breakfast was simple, but cozy and we had some great tips sharing with the other guests every morning.
