  Well, if you have to point the exact center and downtown of Providence, ri, you would have to put the pin on The Biltmore... This is like an icon of the city and one of those old-school American hotels. The location itself is unbeatable and it looks over the 'central park' of Providence; Kennedy Plaza. The rooms are nice, the lobby looks old-schoo... wat mensen zeggen » l. But that's about it. - Service was excellent, friendly and attentive front desk and concierge--available at all hours. The front desk upgraded me to a larger room with morning sun. The bed was very comfortable, firm with a mountain of soft pillows. Good, fast (and complimentary) wireless. Fitness room was empty at 5:30 a.m. easily accessible and with towels and bottled water.

  The property is a traditional New England manor house over 3 floors. It is furnished throughout with antique furniture with 4 poster beds in all rooms. The house oozes character. Breakfast is made to order and was lovely with the Innkeepers wife baking fresh muffins ready and still warm. The Innkeeper and his wife are charming and helpful. it was ... wat mensen zeggen » a great stay. - Beautifully restored old house with wonderful wood carved mantels, etc and lovely sunroom where most people chose to have breakfast. The food was excellent, thanks to the very talented cook. The innkeeper and his wife were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the region
