  The beds and pillows are amazing. The decor is great. My kids loved using the little shelves in the back bedroom. Skylights and coffee maker are a nice touch.   The staff was very personable, Fred was at the desk when I checked in and was just wonderful, he remembered our email correspondence, and it was like we already met. He gave me a map of the area and pointed out different things to do and where they were, really helpful.   Everything was great. Don't let the exterior fool you. Very welcoming, from the staff to the environment. Beach is literally steps away. It is lively all around. Most people would complain about the noise, but you have to take into account that that's just the Venice/Santa Monica environment. Fun and the sun is at your doorstep. We asked for a beach/ocean view and were upgraded upon - Brilliant, friendly & helpfull staff. It's right on the famous boardwalk next to plenty of restaurants & a small convenience store. It's secure, with a good safety deposit box in the room & I felt safe despite the colour characters going in & out at night. My room was also impeccably clean, as was the whole hotel. - The staff at this hotel were sensational! We got to check-in early, had our bags carried up 3 flights of stairs (because the elevator was on the fritz) and got to check-out late so we could sleep off our jet-lag. Plus they have one of the best lobby spaces I've ever seen and there's rooftop access to watch the sunset over Venice.

  my husband had surgery at St. Johns HOspital and the location was perfect. Wish there was an outdoor type place to sit and read or hatever during nice weather...pool? I needed an extra night and the staff was very accomodating and helpful.   Loved everything.Excellent restruants close by as well as public transportation,Easy access to the beach,wonderful Patio on 4th floor made it convenient to relax and being a smoker it was a great place to relax and smoke :) Staff was very Helpful and courtious - We had business to conduct in the Santa Monica area.
