The hotel was really nice and clean, the staf was very friendly - they allowed us ti check in already at noon without being alerted beforehand. The breakfast is simple but fine, the afternoon tea and sherry enjoyable. The rooms are spacious and furnished with taste, the beds are comfortable. this was a pleasant experience. The location is very good, near the Union square and the Grace cathedral, with many options to dine around.

The location was only a few blocks from public transportation. There
were many eating places of all types nearby. The hotel is slightly
uphill; it is about 3 blocks of moderate incline but there are different
routes that can minimize the uphill walk. The hotel is very nice and
clean with amenities I did not see available at other hotels such as
bottled water, coffee, tea, hot breakfast and cookies. It is an older

First time in a 'Boutique Hotel' setting, was amazing, very charming, friendly, convenient to everything, trolley directly outside hotel....restaurants, cafes, shopping, all within walking distance, or hop on trolley. Was very quiet, slept wonderfully. Decor quaint & beautiful. Bed comfy, water pressure great. Bkft included was good & filling. Cannot say enough great things about this adorable hotel. The location is ideal. Easy to access from BART and close to everything. No armies of homeless people nearby.

I really liked the décor - based on a poster for the film Vertigo. The emphasis on white made the interior look very clean and fresh.
