Hotel Macomber was just darling! We booked last minute & didn't really know what to expect. The room was quaint, yet adorable and romantic. We weren't expecting to see the ocean - as we didn't request a room with a view, but you could see the ocean from our bathroom & bedroom. The staff members were really sweet & helpful! The location of the hotel is fantastic. Close to the beach & Washington Street Mall... Took about 15 minutes to get to the Cape May Zoo & about 5 minutes .
alle beoordelingen » My daughter and I had a wonderful time at the hotel. The owner was very friendly with my daughter who is special. In my book that means everything to me. The hotel was clean and the staff were very accommodating. It was steps away from the beach.I would recommend staying at the hotel. The restaurant in the hotel has the best food in Cape May. The local wine was good too. The hotel was comfortable and charming. Our room was a good size, with a king bed and nice linens and an ocean view. It is across the street from the beach with a large porch and rocking chairs. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend The Macomber!. I loved the location of the hotel and the old-world atmosphere. The beds were very comfortable also. Hotel and room was very clean and the cleaning staff was extremely friendly and efficient. Some may find the stairs challenging, but we needed the exercise. The hotel was conveniently located to the beach, shopping and dining. The room was clean and well maintained. Although the hotel is located on a main street, it was not noisy. I liked the fact that the staff was friendly and helpful. There were some bad reviews online about the hotel, but we found them groundless. We will stay there again. Being across the road from the beach. There should be a coffee maker in the room or available in the lobby. One of the hotel staff (young male) wasn't very friendly or helpful. Although the rest of the staff was. The cleaning ladies were very friendly too. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything being said in the next room while in the bathroom. Also the bathroom sink was very narrow and small and it was impossible to rinse your face without getting water all over the floor. No coffee in the room or hotel lobby. Our trip was too short! Ha! Actually, the food at the hotel could have been a bit less expensive, especially during mid October, when we stayed. Did not like one specific restaurant in town. The TV was small, there wasn't a clock radio and they didn't provide shampoo. Everything was great - no dislikes. Not that It bothered us, but as the hotel makes you aware there are steps to the lobby and steps to the rooms. Just be aware of this in making your plans. Food prices very high. Noise from other guest rooms was a bit intrusive at times (not sufficiently muffled by walls and doors). No Bar. No breakfast room. Room did not look like the online pictures...not well decorated. room decor noise. a young man was non-attentive, sat with headsets on his head, portion of the porch set-aside for restaurant-would have preferred more rockers, smoking on porch, uncomfortable and uninviting parlor-too much antiquity, need privacy blind in bathroom, the lower bathroom glass was private, upper window did not have the ability for privacy, we had to hang a towel on the bathroom valance for privacy. Insufficient hooks for damp towels from bath and beach, as well as hooks for damp bathing suits. the size of the room compared to the price.... easy to expensive... The room could be more equipped or convenient for guest , as , places to put things .It had one tiny shelf above the sink .For 3 ladies this was difficult .Between toiletries,Makeup and hair stuff , It was a real pain ..All it would take is more storage space .Couple shelves or table and mirror .A man must have designed the room . No elevator, noisy air conditioner and lack of shelf space for two people. They had weddings in the restaurant section from 5:30 til 11p both nites we were there. Would not have stayed there if we knew. Got to crowded to hang out at nite. Noise!!Aircondistioning units noisey in room, room next door, also hall way. Could hear every movement in room next door shower curtain being pulled and water being used. No facility to make coffee,tea in morning/evening.
