  Lovely warm welcome. We appreciated the help with our luggage to our room (elderly couple). Soon we were offered refreshment in front garden. Map of Scarborough given and our position in relation to highlights in the town - so helpful as this was out first visit. Nicely laid table. Generous "English" breakfast expertly cooked. Very helpful recomm... wat mensen zeggen » ending restaurants for our evening meal. Our daughter and son-in-law were with us and they too were 100% satisfied. Garry did everything he could to - The staff were extremely helpful to me and my small children. Nothing was too much trouble and they made the children feel special over and beyond the call of duty. The hotel was clean and well presented and excellent value for money. Being a single parent with two small children I find that most hotels leave us to our own devices which can be a little daunting. Gary was very helpful and totally understood the need to accommodate needs of guests like myself.

  I loved everything about my stay at Sylvern House, The owner was so friendly and helpful from start to end. Breakfast was amazing 3 courses and it was so filling and made me and my girlfriend ready for the day ahead! Neither of us had any problem with our room or any other part of the stay. I would very much like to say a great big thank you to Richard and Vicki for running such a beautiful bed and break - Fantastic breakfast which was cooked to order as given a menu sheet to choose options the night before.   Very friendly proprietor, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms very spacious and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was delicious. The area where the hotel is situated is easily within walking distance into Scarbrough town centre or seaside but is in a quieter part which means that you can sleep peacefully. It was free of the noise and bustle of the north side of Scarborough. The breakfast was very nice.   Booked last minute only room left which was small but clean.I Booked as a B&B the breakfast was good.Hotel has a small bar and couple that run it are very nice people.Near to North bay can walk down catch bus to South Bay or town. A must is to call at Harbour Bar in South Bay and enjoy a fantastic ice cream never to forget..! R Malton - We stayed here as it was near the open air theatre where we were attending a gig. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warmth. We were given advice on how to get to venue and the owners even put some of our champagne in the fridge for us to celebrate my birthday later. Overall an excellent stay. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to others. Thanks for a great stay.

Children are especially well catered for, as they have every imaginable farm animal in the fields near the house, plus dogs, rabbits, a ferret and certainly one or two I've missed. The animals are friendly and approachable, needless to say. The couple running the place are warm, smiling and welcoming, and made us feel very much at home. There are ple
