  Been before.. Will come again.. Individual character, staff are friendlyand go that little bit further with service. Superb and a pleasurableexperience. My two sons particularly love this hotel.. There is aparticular atmosphere that they cherish and it is so good to know thatthey are having fun just by being there. Internet access worked without any problem - unlike other hotels we've stayed. Our room was light, very clean, pretty bed linen, Having sheets and blanket was a lovely change from a duvet. Extra pillows in room without having to ask. Plenty of tea, coffee etc.

  The room was really comfortable, the bed was the best bed I have ever slept on in a hotel and the room was so well organised, location of television etc that we had everything we wanted.   Owners Michael and Fiona were an absolute delight, nothing too much trouble. Fiona even produced some rice cakes for my non-wheat-eating partner at breakfast, and Michael dropped us off in town himself when we asked about taxis. Thanks again, Michael. The bed was huge and comfortable, and it was a nice touch to offer a flask of fresh milk for tea ... wat mensen zeggen » in the room (and cold, filtered water). Loved the lion in the garden and the bird in our room (metalwork sculptures, not real!). - We were at a wedding nearby so popped over to quickly check in between events! We received a warm welcome on arrival and our room felt homely and clean. Very comfortable bed with loads of pillows and bedding good quality. Excellent breakfast next day, service very good. Fiona and Mike are a lovely couple who quickly make you feel at home. We would happily recommend Hawthorn Farm to others.

  Staff were efficient and friendly. Our room, overlooking the Pavilion Gardens, was clean, comfortable, warm and well fitted out. Location is excellent. We ate in the dining room and the wine bar - both good.   Very friendly owners. Gave us a jug of fresh milk as soon as we arrived as we wanted a cup of tea in our room (even though the usual portions of milk were provided). They also kindly chilled the bottle of champagne that we had brought for a little celebration, and provided us with champagne glasses. The bread was from a local bakers and, therefore, nicer than your usual B & B toast. They were abl - Both Elizabeth and Tim were very helpful, even though we had a twin room and two very big dogs to accommodate!!! They provided dog chews, maps for walking, and a wonderful choice of local produce for breakfast!! The room was very clean and comfortable, but possibly a little tight on space for two and two dogs; more to do with us than the Manse! The short walk from town centre, and the train station made it perfect for us.

However, once there it is only five minutes drive from Buxton and conveniently placed to a busy shopping centre and also to a number of very beautiful routes. Would recommend visiting the nearby underground caverns, as well as some nice scenic hikes.
