  We were offered free upgrade to a villa when they do not have any non-smoking room available. The place is extremely comfortable and cosy. The staff was so helpful when my friend did not feel well around the time of the checkout and mentioned we could stay till she was feelling ok and the personal touch on offering assistance just could not be fo... wat mensen zeggen » und in the 5 star hotel chains. - Our 2 nights-stay in the hotel was amazing. Our room was upgraded to a suite close to Gion Hatanaka. The suite was large, quiet and comfortable. We also enjoyed the kaiseki dinner as well as Geisha show. It was marvellous. The hotel staff was professional and helpful. They could communicate in English. I wish I could stay longer.

  Too many! We have a wonderful stay at Seikoro. We like almost everything there, loacation is perfect. We walked to lots visitor places nearby with our 2-year-old son. The breakfast was just like an art. The woman who service us names Hiro-san, we like her very much.... - Lovely ryokan with friendly, welcoming staff.   The hotel is well located, very close to the main train station and the Gion district, the beautiful and traditional part of Kyoto. The rooms are really stunning, with a wonderful fusion of traditional and modern Japanese design. The rooms are also very large (especially for Japanese standards) and we felt instantly relaxed upon arrival. The wi-fi was the best we experienced on our Japan trip and even good enoug - The rooms at Kanra are visually beautiful. The design is typically Japanese and the management have put a lot of thought and money into the aesthetics and decor. They make beautiful use of hidden lighting to give the room subtely and sophistication. The size of the room is enormous by any standard, let alone Japanese, and the bed is separated from the tatami mat TV room by a bamboo screen. The bed is so comfortable and the pillows just right.

Although very, conveniently close to a subway station, it is accessed through a "shoutengai" (with all its charm) into a narrow alley and then a narrower one still. The five of us, including two very small girls, were very comfortable at Kyoto Miyabi Inn - I just wish we had lo - Awesome two story authentic Kyoto house with an exceptionally service-oriented staff that is fluent in English. Just remember to keep a note with the address in Japanese and the phone number of the hotel, as many taxi drivers will not find the direction and will call the hotel owners for exact directions. When you have learned its location, you will easily navigate there. Highly recommended! - Very clean, lovely traditional guesthouse. We booked in on short notice and were even given a tour of the house. Good facilities, everything you need for a stay. There was a tablet available for internet access which was great. But there is also WiFi available if you need it. Short walk to the town center and right beside a metro and bus stop if needed too. Overall we really enjoyed our stay
