The staff was very nice and kind, but I'm not the kind of
costumer that makes requests. The reception were very sofisticated
with a very nice design. The room had a great space and the design
was lovely too. The kitchenette was really helpful! It has everything
you need if you want to prepare your food in your room. They even

Stayed 11 nights in this wonderful city and had read about Citadines
Karasuma,indeed,it´s as most people say. Very comfortable and super
clean hotel. In one of the most busy avenues of Kyoto but when inside
what you really hear is just a slight traffic rumour. The room maids
where very good, altough I usually left the towels and kimono hanging
they nonetheless changed everyday. The fully equiped kitchenette is a
plus for a snack or light meal if you´re to tired to go out. Just

found it quite easily. Take the subway to Gojo station on the Karasuma
line and exit on the north side. The main street running north is
Karasuma Dori, running west is Gojo dori.. Walk to the west & head

The Toshiharu Ryokan is a beautiful old building in a good central
location. Our hosts made us feel very welcome and did everything to
make our stay enjoyable. I would highly recommend the Japanese
breakfast. All of the facilities were very good and clean. We loved
our room overlooking the garden. We look to staying at the Toshiharu
in the future.

The location is superb for a taste of real Kyoto. Beautiful streets full of temples around. We were in a two-room (suite) japanese room with bathrooom during Gion Matsuri so that price was high but reasonable. This is a family Ryokan and hence lacks services. The dedication and desire to please of the family that runs the hotel highly compensates. I would certainly like to return.

Decided to get a room with a view of the Japanese garden, was definitely
worth the extra money. The staff were exceptionally patient with our
limited language ability and extremely helpful in regard to local
information and travel questions. The room was very quiet and
exceptionally clean, I would definitely recommend staying here,
especially for those travelling with jr Pass as the location is very
near the rail station.

The staff went above and beyond to help me retrieve an electronic
device I left on the train. Apart from that the location was only a few
minutes walk from Kyoto Station which we found perfect and the hotel
was clean and comfortable, providing wifi which can't ways be
presumed in Japan. -
