After being in the hotel no more than a few minutes I knew that I would definitely want to stay there again. Friendly and welcoming staff and a huge room with a wonderful view of the sea. Lovely big bathroom too. Very comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. The hotel is full of character and reminded me of holidays of my childhood. It was a very welcome change from some of the.impersonal and modern hotels I have stayed in.

Good value for money comfortable rooms nicely furnished and for the price everything I would expect. We have been to this group once before and will certainly use in future when in Portsmouth visiting relatives. Will definitely try restaurant next visit as Portsmouth really needs good quality food outlets.

Very homely place, comfortable bed, our room was clean and warm. We received a very warm welcome from the owners on arrival and nothing was too much trouble. The Kingsley is ran by a really friendly couple. My room was lovely with a comfy bed and good quality bedding.
I had booked the wrong room by mistake and wanted an en suite so they were happy to get another room ready for me at 7pm.
Didn't stop for breakfast but they filled my coffee thermos with great fresh black coffee!
Will be booking again!

We enjoyed the spa and also found the attention to detail and service by the staff to be of a very high quality. We were pleased that the rate offered meant that we were able to visit a hotel we had long wanted to visit. - Staff very friendly without being overpowering, food excellent, spa facilities very good. Thank you to the staff at Somerset House for an outstanding contribution to hospitality in Portsmouth/Southsea. We stayed 1 night only and could find nothing to complain about; not even I, an avid watcher of 'four in a bed!' The room was delightful, breakfast was good and wholesome and my cousin wallowed for an hour and a half in his Jacuzzi bath.

Very lovely hotel. Individually decorated rooms, finished to a high standard. Warm welcome from Laura which was much appreciated following a rough crossing from Bilbao. Simple continental breakfast but good quality ingrediants offered and sufficient for us. We walked into Portsmouth along the seafront and caught a taxi back to Southsea. Had a very nice meal at Rosie's Vineyard which was a short walk from hotel. Very pleasant overnight stay.

This hotel is beautiful. It is extreamily well presented and by far the best hotel I have stayed in. There is a gorgeous log fire as you enter the reception. The room was more like an apartment and had a fabulous spar bath and more charactor then you can imagine. I would recomend this hotel to everyone as it is perfect. Simply enchanting - Food exc
