A very warm, clean and well equipped room. We brought our 'well-behaved' spaniel who loved the guesthouse and our host.
The cooked breakfast was excellant.
We were warmly welcomed, well fed and very well look after during our stay. We loved it!

yself and my husband and another couple stayed 1 night and chose this hotel due to the location - close to seascale but the location was beautiful the bar was a typical country inn type, the staff friendly, food was good & the Kamikazi real ale went down well. We wanted a real good value pub as a walking base for the weekend, we found one right in the middle of the lakes. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us - big thanks. The food was straightforward, good quality and great value. The beer was exceptional and again great value. We loved all the fires and so did our dogs. The rooms we ok, nothing special, but clean and comfortable. We will be returning again.

Good friendly atmosphere, comfortable, spotlessly clean recently refurbished room. We booked an evening meal and were delighted with the quality, we had the gammon and haddock (not together) and both were excellent All the staff we met were really friendly and helpfull. -

A most charming inn set in a beautiful location overlooking Skiddaw. The staff were exceptionally friendly and as for the food - what can we say but 5 Star with emphasis on top quality local produce cooked with flair and presented with style. Great service, staff very welcoming and great location and views. Will certainly return when next we next visit the lakes. The breakfast service was the best we have had from any hotel/guest house. The little touches and attention to detail are very noticeable and make a real difference. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

We stayed in one of the cottages and it was beautiful. So clean and well maintained, just lovely. We arrived extremely late (00.10) but were greeted with a warm, friendly smile by Steve who was so attentive. establishment of this standard that serves good honest pub grub at
reasonable prices - just what you need when climbing the hills. Good to
see a hotel supporting local real ale brewers not not just the usual
'fizz' that most hotels offer. Food and drink prices all very
reasonable, nice not to have a shock when paying the food and bar bill.
