This is the very best hotel! We toured Crete for 11 days and wished we had stayed here for more than 1 night. I rarely take the time to write reviews but Megaron was so exceptional that I felt compelled to comment. The service, room, breakfast buffet are extraordinary! It's the first all-female run 5-star hotel I've stayed in from manager, dining maitre d' to porters. Sophia, the reception/concierge + Poppy the porter and service staff + Voula in the dining room go the extra distance to be kind and helpful. Tranquillissimo. - A really nice place for a relaxed vacation. Service is excellent, and the places really feels out of the way of regular tourism. A really charming "taberna" closeby serves really tasty food. The waitress/cook was a charming elderly woman (who doesn't speak english, but that was all the more fun). The view from the place is great.
... cosa dice la gente » There is a small shop on the ground where you can get some groceries - The facilities, the service, the friendliness of the owner, the atmosphere, the location, all are exceptional. The owner maintains a small store with basic supplies on the compound, which is very convenient considering that the ~30 people settlement is a long way from places with shops and does not offer any reasonable supply. The place is definitely worth driving the narrow road up to it.

The hotel was in an amazing location set in a cove, the exterior of the hotel blended into the natural cove scene which was great.
The staff were great very attentive and the pool/ beach was not crowded just right. -

The staff were so welcoming , particularly Georgos , and the welcome meeting with free glass of champagne and smoked salmon blinis was a really nice touch . We were upgraded and our room was lovely with fabulous view to spinalonga and hot tub on the balcony . Another very nice touch was free bottle of very good quality Cretan red wine . All in all

Went back after 5 or even more years. Everything was as good as i expected. Especially i like the management decision to renew the hotel. It is really unspecific for Europe. A lot of activities and friendly staff. My 3 years old daughter especially liked the mini disco and mini aqua park. -
The bars at the evenings are truly romantic and pleasant

Elounda Mare is perfection. We absolutely love this place and will definitely be back. Our room had beautiful views and was very spacious and very clean. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. After travelling all day we arrived quite late so the complimentary glass of champagne was very much appreciated as was the fruit basket in our room. T
