Enjoyed 3 nights of luxury during 5 weeks in France. Loved the quiet location (car GPS needed to find it the first time), but only a short drive into Carcassonne. Our junior suite was huge with contemporary but classic décor; separate shower & big bath, and toilet; king-size bed; block out shutters & thick walls so we slept well. Free coff

We received an excellent welcome from the owner who supplied us with full information about the area which we wouldn't have got from a travel book.
The chateau has been restored into a contemporary hotel with excellent fittings and wi fi. Our suite was very large, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is about an 8 minute drive from Carcassonne. It is worth visiting the Canal du Midi at Trebes and the picturesque Legrasse.

The hotel was in an excellent and beautiful location, literally at the bottom of the hill at the entrance to the castle. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and they all spoke great English. Excellent value at the Hotel Montmorency but great bonus to be able to use the facilities of the Hotel Du Chateau. Wonderful position so close to the old Cite, beautiful gardens and pool - you could sit on comfortable sofas on the terrace with a glass of wine in the evening, overlooking the Citadel and watching people toil up the hill! the suite was great, a good size and the huge bath tub and wet room were lovely. the hotel gardens are very classy and the location next to the entrance to the walled city was perfect to stroll to. The car park is secure which was important to us. -

We love to stay in this apartment as the room is spacious with many kitchen equipments (except water boiler). My dad could take care of himself with cooking tools while my mom and I were not around. It is very convenient for travellers who like to focus on old historic city as it is only some minutes away but make sure you need to be fit to climb

Space. It was pretty big the apartment for my famility to stay (couple + 1yr old baby + 3 yrs. old child).
The location was perfect. Very close to the castle.
The access is very good to go walking. Not recomended to go to the castle with the baby trolley but this has nothing to do with the hotel/appartment.

Charming B&B just 1 km outside Carcassonne and perfect for visiting La Cite. Isolated position but all the facilities needed. Plenty of places to eat in old Carcassonne itself and not too far to walk to La Cite if you're feeling energetic. Excellent breakfast. Overall very good value. Would use again if in the area. -

We had the benefit of the ground floor room which has a door into the
small courtyard garden which was perfect for a quiet glass of wine after

Excellent chambre d'hôte in the centre of La Cité Médievale de Carcassonne, a few steps from the ancient Basilica of St Nazaire and the old walls and gateways. Lovely spacious room with excellent, much needed air conditioning - the temperature during the day in the cité was mid-30s. Very traditional French feel to the room: select, chic furnishings; immaculately clean. And a spacious bathroom with full-on modern shower. This was well situated within easy walking distance of the castle, and with a shockingly good bakery right across the road. The room was tidy and clean, and the beds were very confortable. Great price, free secure carpark comfy bed and its a 15min walk to La Cite. But In the hot summer sun the walk to La Cite is punishing. No footpath or shelter, older travelers should be careful. Because of this we drove our car back to La Cite at 8pm, and the was free at this time in the evening.
