  Overall impression was of a family run hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Even though the hotel was old and could have done with a lick of paint, it was comfortable and secure.   The location was great - a short walk from Gare du Nord, close to many good budget-minded cafes, and incredible jazz clubs. The view from the sixth floor (i.e. seventh) was wonderful. Location - we had a window with a completely amazing view on Sacré- Cœur. Close to a couple of metro station. 2. Excellent staff - helpful, friendly, English-speaking. When we had to leave earlier, the receptionist himself served us breakfast with just-from-the-bakery croissants and baguettes. 3. Public kitchen is a good thing. 4. Rather nice facilities for the money, good beds, nice breakfast.
