  I arrived very late in the evening maybe 11pm and could not find any hostel open, i tried calling the '24 hour' receptions of other hostels nearby but no one answered. i found the cape byron yha in an awesome spot and it looked open so i walked in and was welcomed by a lady who happened to still be working late, she organised my room no problem. Stones throw from the beach and 2 min wal - the location was fantastic as well as the price for a bed! happy was very comfortable.

  Silence, Relax, Kitchen Facilities - everything was perfect. a bit far from town but it's sort of walkable. might be worth looking up rainbow retreat although that one's not much closer - We liked it was clean, the showers are way better than any backpacker's accommodation and the staff is really friendly and helpful.

  The communal area was huge with free wifi and good sized kitchen, really nice roof terrace but would be even better if wifi was available up there, but then I suppose it would be packed every day! The staff were always friendly and happy to help with any concerns or questions.
