  The hotel is nice and our room (two adults and two kids) was quite large. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We never ate at any of the hotel restaurants and so cannot comment. As with other Japan hotes they provide lots of amenities. All in all it was good choice and good value for money. The purpose of my vacation was to see the temples, see the Gion district, and dress up like a Geisha. She helped me to plan everything with the buses, trains, taxis, etc. She had maps for me in English that were extremely helpful. The hotel is centrally located near the main attractions of Kyoto making it ideal for my vacation.

While it's about 2-3 stations away from the hub JR station, it is so close to many places of interests.   We had a very japanise style room. Very luxurious with privated garden. The bathroom was a dream. May be the best I´ve ever been. I can highly recommend it if you want a relaxing and typical japanise experience. A true ryokan.
