The hotel is nice and our room (two adults and two kids) was quite
large. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We never ate at any of
the hotel restaurants and so cannot comment. As with other Japan hotes
they provide lots of amenities. All in all it was good choice and good

Imperial Palace and short taxi rides to the Golden and Silver temples. -
The concierge was amazing! The purpose of my vacation was to see the
temples, see the Gion district, and dress up like a Geisha. She
helped me to plan everything with the buses, trains, taxis, etc. She
had maps for me in English that were extremely helpful. The hotel is
centrally located near the main attractions of Kyoto making it ideal
for my vacation.

Excellent central location in Gion. The taxi driver from Kyoto station
was not familiar with the hotel or its location. When drivers don't
know a destination, they can locate it by calling the hotel so make sure
you have the phone number handy. Unfortunately, my driver mistook the
hotel's postal code for a phone number, but after a few minutes of

Location is key to this hotel. It was central to what we wanted to see in kyoto for a day and a half. We were right beside the shoping district district full of restaurants, cafes, and all the different products of kyoto as well as the branded names. Then to the east side of the hotel are the different temples and the feel of ancient japan with a walk in narrow streets full of restaurants, shops, cafes, ets which lead to different temples in the area. Nice and comfortable, very clean, quiet and a king_size breakfast.
The breakfast is really worth the price, but don't book it in advance, you get discount vouchers at the reception counter!
The Monterey-Hotels are all over Japan the best choice! Check-in was easy, the staff can speak English and are very friendly. -
